A Turned Pen Of Ebony

Posted in My Projects, Woodturning on Feb 13, 2008

Ebony has always intriged me and today I got a chance to work with it while making this Flat Top American pen:

A Turned Pen Of Ebony

It was very easy to work with. It’s shavings made a stark contrast with the lighter wood shavings around the lathe.

It is a fairly hard wood and it finished up nice though you can see very little grain in it unless you look really close.

There is just something about ebony that just conjures up the idea of ‘exotic’. :)
