Have you ever tried turning with an earth mover??? That would be a thought. You would need a giant redwood though!… LOL!

LOL! Well, after seeing some of the antics the Crazy Canadian Woodworker does I wouldn’t put it past him to try something like that.

Back in the day, this used to be the way. Remembers seeing those sawmills and farm implements running off a tractor with one of the wheels replaced by a pulley? There were tractors with a wide wheel to accommodate a wide, flat belt for the same purposes too.

I like this direct drive system too though.
