  3. Back in the day, this used to be the way. Remembers seeing those sawmills and farm implements running off a tractor with one of the wheels replaced by a pulley? There were tractors with a wide wheel to accommodate a wide, flat belt for the same purposes too.

    I like this direct drive system too though.
