Small Southwest Pot TrioSep 11, 2010

Here’s a trio of small Southwest style pots that I also did over the summer. They are made of Ash and they have been burned with a basket weave. They are 3 1/4″ high and 3 3/4″ in diameter.

Here’s a large Maple bowl that I turned over the summer. It is just over 13 1/4″ in diameter and almost 5″ tall, making it the largest bowl that I turned so far. It features three rings around the outside rim.

Here’s some other photos showing a bit closer views starting with this one that shows, from left to right, Spalted Maple, Red Palm, Cocobolo and Zebrawood:

Birch Salad Bowl With TexturingAug 26, 2010

Here’s a Birch bowl that features a band of texturing around its middle. It is 10″ in diameter and 4″ high and finished with my mineral oil and beeswax mixture.

The texturing really adds to the color and wild grain of this particular piece of the Birch. It has quickly become a favorite and is now in regular use as our prime salad bowl. :)
