Herman de Vries
Herman de Vries from Manitoba, Canada shares his love of woodturning (and singing!) with the world with this great website. Check out the turnings he has done since 1997.
Neal Addy - Three Seasons Woodturning
In 2004 I began dabbling in woodworking and quickly gravitated towards the lathe. In woodturning I found a unique and creative outlet for my love of pottery forms and my newly discovered passion for nature's perfect canvas: wood. Each piece of wood has it's own personality and character. One never knows what surprises Mother Nature has hidden inside!
John Macnab
John Macnab is largely self-taught as a wood-turner and machinist. His exquisite turned sculptures have been shown in galleries, art fairs, and industrial design exhibitions across the continent, and his Halifax, Nova Scotia studio has become a site exemplifying the creative relationship between tool and form.
Molly Winton
When exploring a source of inspiration for my surface enhancements, I looked to my interests in Native American and prehistoric art. Since childhood I have been facinated by the creative expression of native North American cultures, petroglyphs of the Columbia Plateau of the Northwest, as well as the cave art of Lascaux, France and Altimira, Spain. My artwork reflects their influences.
Steven Kennard
This site shows the fine woodturning and custom furniture making work of Steven Kennard. Born in England he now lives in Canada.
Curt Theobald
Internationally-known segmenter Curt Theobald is both artist and instructor, exhibiting in some of the largest and most prestigious galleries, as well as teaching segmented woodturning workshops in which he demonstrates the processes that he uses to create his amazing pieces. (United States)
Matthew Hill
Matthew began turning in the early 1980's while working as a cabinet maker. He currently turns full-time at his home shop in Oklahoma City creating work primarily for galleries and invitational shows. "I hope my work possesses something of the wonder and inevitability found in a natural object; a weathered branch, a leaf, a seed, a stone. I hope it is both refined and organic, old and new, something made connecting with the created."
Beth Ireland
Beth Ireland has lectured, taught and demonstrated throughout New England, including a stint as Director of the Wood Program at Worcester Center for Crafts. Her artistic woodturnings have been seen in galleries throughout the United States and in publications such as Bead and Button, and Design Book 7 by Taunton Press.
Rude Osolnik
Rude Osolnik died at his home on Poverty Ridge, in Berea on November 18, 2001. He was 86. Osolnik was widely admired as one of the finest wood turners in America and his workshops and seminars were in demand around the world.
Mike Mahoney
Mike Mahoney has been a professional wood turner since 1994. His bowls are featured in galleries across the United States. Mike's work is sought after by collectors all over the world. Mike is often requested to demonstrate and teach for wood turning clubs, craft schools and symposia. He has traveled around the world to discuss and demonstrate his craft. He is considered an authority in woodturning. (United States)
